How to Run an Efficient Search in GoPerfect

Running a precise and effective search in GoPerfect is simple, fast, and intuitive. With a short conversation with the search agent, a high-quality search can be built and refined to match specific needs.

The search agent then identifies and presents the most relevant and qualified candidates based on the defined criteria, ensuring the candidate pool is both optimized and highly aligned with the search requirements.

Getting Started

From the GoPerfect home page, Find your way to the "Create Position" button and click on it.

Next, choose Outbound. Once you click on that, we will transform into the search interface.

Creating Your Position

Describing What You’re Looking For

When creating a new position, you have several ways to start your search. You can upload a PDF file, dictate the role, or create it from scratch.

Important: To run a search, you must include both a job title and a location.

Conversation with Our Search Agent

After you explain what you’re looking for, the search agent will begin setting up your search.

The Four Priority Methods

After you clearly describe what you’re looking for, the search agent will organize each skill or industry into four different categories within the chat.

The search is built around four priority types that control both who appears in your results and how they’re ranked. Must-Have and Exclude act as strict filters, defining the pool by including only candidates who meet essential criteria and removing those who don’t.

Important and Preferred, on the other hand, influence ranking rather than filtering, helping surface the most relevant candidates at the top without excluding others entirely.

You will receive a clear breakdown from the search agent outlining which criteria are Must-Have, Important, and Nice to Have. You’ll also see the size of the candidate pool based on your base search, along with how the Must-Have requirements impact and narrow down the results.

But don’t worry! Our search agent is here to guide you. It will always provide two to three suggestions to help you reach the optimal candidate pool size.

Once you choose one of the suggestions, you’ll be presented with a new target candidate pool size.

Then, simply click Start, and the search will begin, presenting you with candidate match cards.

Remember- The chat is always available on the left-hand side, allowing continuous refinements throughout the search process.

PRO TIPS:

  1. Using too many Must-Haves can quickly shrink your results. When possible, move more flexible criteria into Important or Preferred to keep your search broad enough while still focused.

  2. Be intentional with logic: “OR” means a candidate can have one of the skills, while “AND” means they must have all of them. This distinction has a major impact on how many results you’ll see.

  3. The search uses semantic matching, so related skills and concepts are included automatically. For example, searching for “Machine Learning” can also surface candidates with experience in “Deep Learning” or “Neural Networks.”
