Shortlist

A "save for later" status for candidates you want to revisit — without spending a credit, sending outreach, or syncing to your ATS.

Written by Hadar Kreiter

Shortlist is a "save for later" status for candidates you want to revisit — without committing to outreach, spending a credit, or syncing them to your ATS. Park them now, decide later.

It sits between Review and Added to Outreach as a quiet middle ground: a place to hold candidates you're not 100% sure about, strong matches you want a second opinion on, or a curated set you want to share with a hiring manager before any outreach goes out.

How It Works

  • A new Shortlist tab appears between To Review and Added to Outreach, with a live count of every candidate added there.

  • Notice that the count on Shortlist is separate from the count on Added to Outreach.

  • To move a candidate from Shortlist to Outreach, open the Shortlist tab, hover over the candidate, and click Add to Outreach.

  • Notice - You have the option to also move to skip or back to review.

  • In List View, a bookmark Shortlist button sits next to Skip and Outreach. Click it and the candidate moves into the Shortlist tab.

  • Reviewing several candidates at once? Multi-select them and use the Add to Shortlist button in the bulk toolbar, alongside Skip All and Add to Outreach.

When to Use Shortlist

  • You're not 100% sure. Park the candidate while you keep working through the queue. Come back to them with fresh eyes instead of forcing a yes/no in the moment.

  • You want a second opinion. Strong candidates you'd like a teammate or hiring manager to weigh in on before reaching out.

  • You're curating a short list. Build a focused set you want to share with a hiring manager before any outreach happens, so the conversation starts from the right people.

What Shortlist Doesn't Do

Shortlist is a pure parking lot. Adding a candidate to it does not:

  • Consume a credit

  • Create an outreach conversation

  • Push the candidate to your ATS

Nothing happens until you decide it should. You can move a candidate in and out of the Shortlist as many times as you like with no side effects.
