You can link a Perfect position to a Greenhouse job in 3 ways: from the position page, from the Perfect AI chat (outbound), or when opening a new inbound position.
Note: The first time you connect Greenhouse, Perfect asks for your Greenhouse API key. See Get your API Key from Greenhouse below.
Option 1: Connect an existing position from the position page
Step 1: Open your position and click Connect ATS
From the homepage, open a position from the left menu. In the Setup section of the Overview tab, click Connect ATS.
You can also click the settings (gear) icon on the right and choose Destination.
Step 2: Pick the Greenhouse job
In Sync position with ATS, search for the role, select it, and choose your sync settings (for example, automatically add liked matches to Greenhouse).
Option 2: Use a job from your ATS in the Perfect AI chat (outbound)
Step 1: Click New Position on the homepage
Step 2: Choose Outbound – Find & Reach Out
Step 3: Ask Perfect AI to use the job from your ATS
Type "Use the job from my ATS" in the chat and send it.
Step 4: Tell Perfect AI which job
Type the job title, or ask Perfect AI to show your job list.
Step 5: Select the job from Greenhouse
Pick the job from the list and click Select.
Option 3: Link a Greenhouse job for inbound screening
Step 1: Click New Position and choose Inbound – Screen Your Applicants
Step 2: Perfect AI pulls your open Greenhouse jobs
Step 3: Select the job and click Select
Search by job title, choose the job, and click Select. Perfect will screen the applicants for that job.
Get your API Key from Greenhouse
Log in and click the Configure (Settings) Icon on the upper right-hand corner of any page
Click Dev Center in the left menu
Select API Credential Management
Click the Create New API Key button
Select Harvest for the API Type, "Custom" under Partner, and enter a description for the API key. Then click Manage Permissions:
Click the Copy button, and paste the API key into Perfect. Next, click "I have stored the API key"
Note that you will not be able to copy this API Key again, so please store it somewhere safe!
Select your permissions:
Click Select All or select the relevant permissions required for your use case
We recommend enabling permissions for Jobs, Candidates, Applications and Prospects
To link your account, the minimum permission you must select is the GET: List Users permission under Users
Troubleshooting: "Failed to validate API key"
This message means Greenhouse rejected the key when we passed it over. The most common causes, in order:
It's the wrong type of key. We need a Harvest API key. A Job Board key will not work, and neither will the newer "Harvest v3" credentials.
An extra space or line break was copied with the key. Paste it with nothing before or after it.
The key was revoked, or wasn't copied in full. Greenhouse only lets you copy a key once — if there's any doubt, create a fresh one.
Creating a new key is usually the fastest fix: Configure → Dev Center → API Credential Management → Create New API Key, type Harvest, with permissions for Jobs, Candidates, Applications and Prospects.
